The range of products is mixed with used and still sealed items that are individually marked. Used goods always have a certain wear. Each product has a photo of the front and back sides. If you click on these photos an enlarged version of the images is shown where you can inspect even smaller details.
Assessment of the product condition
The jackets and discs are all visually inspected (in doubt also functionally tested) and rated individually as follows. The grading is based on the known system used for vinyl records.
Grade 1 = sealed or opened but unused
Grade 1-2 = mint with only minimal wear, like new
Grade 2 = very good+ with very minor wear, minor scratches, splits or dents
Grade 2-3 = very good, with some wear, damage, scratches, splits or dents
Grade 3 = good, nice condition but with clear signs of wear, scratches, splits or dents
Grade 3-4 = fair, a lot of wear, scratches, splits or dents
Grade 4-5 = poor with significant or heavy wear, scratches, splits, holes or dents
Significant damages are included in the item's description.

Laser rot
Laserdiscs may be affected by the so-called laser rot. This is damage caused by chemical decomposition processes within the disc. The plastic casing consists of 2 parts that were bonded and "corrode" if poorly manufactured.
Not all laserdiscs are affected, usually only certain manufacturing locations. In most cases affected discs play without any problem, but have more or less bad image and sound quality issues. On some discs laser rot is visible as red or black spots and these discs would not be offered for sale, or only if the picture and sound are still okay and only with the appropriate identification in the product description.
Please notice that we are not able to check every single disc due to the sheer amount. Also, every disc would need to be checked from start to end.
Sealed discs can of course also be affected, but can not be tested.
